Harrison Ford returns for one more adventure in INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY trailer

Today at Brazil Comic Con CCXP, not only was the official title for the upcoming Indiana Jones film revealed, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, but the first official trailer was also released

To say that the fifth Indiana Jones film has been a long and bumpy road is an understatement. Despite the box office success of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the film wasn’t exactly well received as its predecessors. And the less said about Indy’s son Mutt Williams, thankfully absent in the new film, the better.

With Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm of 2012 that included the Indiana Jones intellectual property, it was no surprise that Disney was keen to produce at least one more Indiana Jones film featuring Harrison Ford in the iconic role.

Even with original Steven Spielberg passing the director baton over to James Mangold, the project was still full steam ahead. Though details have been kept to the close to the vest, it’s known that the film will be set in 1969, against the backdrop of the Space Race with Indy accomponied by his goddaughter Helena played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

New details revealed along with the trailer:

Harrison Ford returns as the legendary hero archaeologist in the highly anticipated fifth installment of the iconic “Indiana Jones” franchise, which is directed by James Mangold (“Ford v Ferrari,” “Logan”). Starring along with Ford are Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”), Antonio Banderas (“Pain and Glory”), John Rhys-Davies (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”), Shaunette Renee Wilson (“Black Panther”), Thomas Kretschmann (“Das Boot”), Toby Jones (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”), Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”), Oliver Richters (“Black Widow”), Ethann Isidore (“Mortel”) and Mads Mikkelsen (“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore”). Directed by James Mangold, the film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original “Raiders of the Lost Ark” in 1981, is once again composing the score

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny arrives in theaters June 30, 2023.
